Jhili Wins Gold In Asian Weightlifting C’ship, Odisha CM Sends Best Wishes

Bhubaneswar: Promising weightlifter of Odisha Jhili Dalabehera won gold in the Asian Weightlifting Championship in women’s event held at Tashkent in Uzbekistan on Sunday.

Jhili won the gold in 45-kg Clean and Jerk event.

She lifted a total 154 kg (69 kg in snatch and 88 kg in jerk) to grab the gold.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the weightlifter on her achievement through a tweet.

Jhili has been on a winning spree this year. In February, Jhilli claimed women’s 45 kg title on the opening day of National weightlifting championships. Jhili beat her Railways teammate MV Thushmita to win the title.
