Bhubaneswar: BJD leader and Padampur MLA Barsha Singh Bariha seems to be quite upset over some BJP leaders’ repeated remarks and allegations regarding Naba Kishore Das amid the ongoing Crime Branch investigation into his murder case.
She has urged Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to ask the leaders of his party to refrain from making wild allegations and objectionable remarks against the slain BJD leader.
Slamming the BJP, Barsha tweeted that the manner in which Das’ image is being tarnished after his death reeks of political vendetta and also goes against the Hindu tradition and Odia culture. “This is not acceptable. The leaders of your party should refrain from making caustic and objectionable remarks against him,” she tweeted.
Bariha further said that she has been through a similar situation following her father’s death. “The BJP leaders had then commented on my marriage and also my character. They continued to cast aspersions despite my repeated pleas. Their biased statements had hurt me and my family then. You did nothing to stop them from making wild allegations and remained mum,” she rued.
In the similar fashion, the image of the slain minister is now being sullied by some BJP leaders. “I can understand what his daughter and family would be experiencing due to the slandering and politically-motivated remarks,” she said while urging Dharmendra to speak up at least now.
