Asmita Khelo India Women’s League: Odisha Lifters Jhili Dalabehera & Sandhya Nayak Bag Silver & Bronze

Bhubaneswar: Odisha duo Jhilli Dalabehera and Sandhya Rani Nayak finished 2-3 in the women’s 49 kg event of the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Weightlifting Zonal League here on Thursday.

National championship gold-medallist Jhili managed to lift 166 kg – 75 in snatch and 91 clean & jerk – to finish second behind Chhattisgarh’s Gyaneshwari Yadav (total 184 kg).

Jhili’s statemate Sandhya Rani bagged the bronze with an effort of 154 kg (69 + 85).

Chhattisgarh claimed the top prize in 49 kg youth category also, with Kumkum Dhruw achieving 131 kg (56 + 75).

Yuka Amak of Arunachal claimed gold in the junior 49 kg event with a total lift of 127 kg (54 + 73).
