Bhubaneswar: A holiday has been declared in 135 educational institutions of Odisha’s Khurda district in view of the written examination on Saturday for recruitment to the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). All these institutions have been designated as ASO exam centres.
Candidates will take the ASO exam in three sittings — General Awareness from 9 am to 10.30 am followed by Mathematics and Reasoning from 11.30 am to 1 pm and Language (English and Odia) from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Candidates are allowed to carry only their admit cards, a xerox copy of ID proof and two passport size photos inside the exam centre. “A large number of candidates are appearing for a total of 796 Group-B posts in the Odisha Secretariat Service this year. We have prepared well. However, it depends on the score as there are different marking systems for general, SC and ST candidates,” a student told a local news channel.
The exam centres allocated have remain unchanged for the ASO written exam on Saturday. Around 56,000 candidates are likely to appear the exam.
The exam, which was scheduled to be held on August 21, was postponed by OPSC on August 18 in view of the severe flood in the state.
