Patkura: Continuing his tirade against BJD leader V K Pandian, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday questioned the teamwork in 5T of the Naveen Patnaik-led government in Odisha.
“Is there is any teamwork in Odisha? Do MLAs, Ministers or the Cabinet wield any power here? The teamwork in 5T denotes to Pandian and his wife. Only two people have power in the state. And the T here stands for Tamil Nadu. Pandian has destroyed the future of Odisha youths by holding the CM hostage,” he alleged during a BJP rally in Kendrapada’s Patkura.
The Assam CM blamed the BJD government and Pandian for the rising unemployment in Odisha. “Youths are forced to migrate to other states in search of work and livelihood while 1 lakh government posts are laying vacant here. Resources of Odisha are also being transferred to other states,” he claimed.
He said that these posts will be filled up in a transparent manner once BJP comes to power and promised another 3 lakh jobs for the youths of the state.
“The people of Odisha have to make a choice between a remote-controlled BJD government run by an outsider or a hands-on BJP government run by son of the soil,” Sarma added, while giving a call for Pandian-Mukt Odisha (Pandian-free Odisha).
He also accused the BJD leader of hiding the keys of Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath temple in Puri. “He has the June 4 deadline to deposit the keys with the Orissa High Court or else we will leave no stone unturned to trace it once the BJP forms a government here,” he said, while questioning the BJD government reluctance to table the Justice Raghubir Das Commission of Enquiry Report in the Assembly.
Sarma also slammed BJD for declaring free electricity for Odisha just before 2014 elections despite remaining in power for 25 years.
Speaking at public meeting, BJP’s Kendrapada Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant Panda said that The ruling party here is getting desperate and bringing false allegations. “The turnout at their public meetings is low, and today I came to know that the CM has brought some allegations; I don’t blame him because whatever the Tamil Babu is prompting him by holding the mic in front, he is saying those things,” he said.
