Guwahati: The flood situation in Assam continues to be grim with the death toll rising to 135 following the death of 8 more persons.
According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), five people died in Cachar district, and one each in Kamrup Metro, Morigaon and Nagaon, while one person was reported missing in Cachar.
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan extended his helping hand to the flood-affected people of Assam by donating Rs 25 lakh to the CM Relief Fund.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to thank Aamir for his act of generosity.
“Eminent Bollywood actor Amir Khan extended a helping hand to the flood-affected people of our State by making a generous contribution of 25 lakh towards CM Relief Fund. My sincere gratitude for his concern and act of generosity,” Biswa Sarma posted.
More than 22 lakh people have got been affected by the floods in 28 districts.
