Assembly Byelections: INDIA Bloc 10, BJP 2, Independent 1; Who Won Where

New Delhi: Having failed to win majority on its own in the recent Lok Sabha elections, BJP suffered another minor setback in the Assembly byelections.

Of the 13 Assembly constituencies which went to polls across seven states on July 10, the saffron party managed to win just 2 seats, while INDIA bloc Opposition parties clinched 10 seats and Independent 1.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept all 4 seats in West Bengal, Congress won 4, AAP and DMK 1 each.

West Bengal

* Maniktala — Supti Pandey (TMC) bt Kalyan Chaubey (BJP) by 62,312 votes

* Bagda – Madhuparna Thakur (TMC) bt Binay Kumar Biswas by 33.455 votes

* Ranaghat (South) – Mukutmani Adhikari (TMC) bt Manoj Biswas (BJP) by 39,048 votes

* Raiganj – Krishna Kalyani (TMC) bt Manas Ghosh (BJP) by 50,077 votes

Himachal Pradesh

* Dehra – Kamlesh Thakur (Congress) bt Hoshyar Singh (BJP) by 9,399 votes

* Hamirpur – Ashish Sharma (BJP) bt Dr Pushpinder Verma (Congress) by 1,571 votes

* Nalagarh – Hardeep Singh Bawa (Congress) bt KL Thakur (BJP) by 8,990 votes

Uttarakhand

* Badrinath – LS Butola (Congress) bt RS Bhandari (BJP) by 5,224 votes

* Manglaur – Qazi Md Nizamuddin (Congress) bt KS Bhadana (BJP) by 422 votes

Punjab

Jalandhar (West) – Mohinder Bhagat (AAP) bt Sheetal Angural (BJP) by 37,325 votes

Madhya Pradesh

* Amarwara – Kamlesh Shah (BJP) bt Dheeran Sah Invati (Congress) by 3.027 votes

Tamil Nadu

* Vikravandi – Anniyur Siva @ Sivashanmugam A (DMK) bt Anbumani C (PMK) by 67,757 votes

Bihar

* Rupauli – Shankar Singh (Independent) bt KP Mandal (JDU) by 8,246 votes.
