Jajpur: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday apprehended Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) Amiya Kumar Dash and Junior Clerk Sudhansu Sekhar Nayak in Odisha’s Jajpur district while allegedly accepting a Rs 30,000 bribe.
According to official sources, both of them were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe amount at their office from a schoolteacher for releasing his arrear pay and other pending dues.
A case has been registered by Berhampur Vigilance under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, against both of them.
Besides, searches are on at two locations, including Dash’s paternal house at Kudei Sasan village in Jajpur and at flat no-4, Shree Tower in BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar, from a disproportionate assets angle.
