Kathmandu: At least 132 people were killed and more than 140 injured after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal Friday midnight. The tremors of the powerful earthquake in Nepal were felt as far away as Delhi, with the epicentre being recorded near Jajarkot’s Ramidanda.
Jajarkot and Rukum were the two districts hit worst by the earthquake.
“Ninety-two people died in Jajarkot and 40 in Rukum,” home ministry spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai told news agency AFP.
Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel are currently mobilised to carry out rescue and relief operations.
