Bengaluru: Electric vehicle maker Ather Energy has raised Rs 260 crore in its latest round of funding led by ex-Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal. Rs 89 crore from Hero MotoCorp has also been raised.
The premium e-scooter will soon be sold in Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Coimbatore, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kolkata, apart from the existing Bengaluru and Chennai.
It is also expanding the Ather Grid charging network.
Ather is starting a new production facility in Hosur near Bengaluru, which will have an annual production capacity of 10 lakh units.
