Ather Starts Setting Up Fast-Charging Network For Electric Vehicles In Chennai

Ather Energy, the company known for its electric scooters, has installed fast-charging network at seven locations in Chennai.

The Ather Grid, as it is known as, can be used by all  electricvehicles (4-wheelers as well) for free till 2019 end.

The company has partnered with cafes, restaurants, tech parks, malls and gyms to setup these charging points. The first ones have come up at Forum Vijaya mall, AtWorks and Bikes and Burgers, among other restaurants.

Users can locate and check availability of the charging stations using the Ather Grid app.

The company plans to install 50-55 charging points in Chennai by 2019 end and 6500 points across the country by 2022. Currently, the Ather Grid is available in Bengaluru apart from Chennai.
