New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) versus Lieutenant Governor ‘battle’ continues.

On Wednesday, AAP alleged that luggage and belongings of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi were thrown out of her official residence — 6, Flagstaff Road — on the orders of Lt Gov VK Saxena.

According to AAP, the move was a part of Baharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) plan to capture the CM’s official residence.

“Delhi Chief Minister’s residence at 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines was forcibly vacated at the behest of the BJP as Lt Governor VK Saxena wants to allot it to a saffron party leader,” Delhi CMO said in a statement.

Pictures and videos showed several cartons and luggage being moved out of Atishi’s bungalow and a team of Public Works Department (PWD) arriving there.

“The BJP has been out of power in Delhi for 27 years.. as a result, they are allegedly attempting to lay claim to the CM’s residence due to their inability to secure electoral support from the public,” said senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.

According to sources from the Lt Governor’s office, 6 Flag Staff Road is not the designated official residence of the Delhi chief minister. It belongs to the Public Works Department (PWD).

“Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal never handed over the property to the PWD after vacating it, raising questions about potential hidden motives. While Chief Minister Atishi’s official residence is currently at 17 AB Mathura Road, she briefly moved her belongings into the 6 Flag Staff Road property without formal allotment. The bungalow will be allotted once the PWD completes its process,” India Today quoted sources as saying.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said that the house was “finally sealed.”

“Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ has finally been sealed… What secrets are hidden in that bungalow that without handing over the keys to the concerned department, you were trying to enter the bungalow again?” said in a video message.

Sachdeva claimed a lot of secrets are hidden in the bungalow.

“You created a good drama by taking your belongings in two small trucks. Everyone knows that the bungalow is still in your possession. The way you tried to hand over the bungalow to Atishi was unconstitutional. Atishi has already been allotted a bungalow then how can she take your bungalow? A lot of secrets are hidden in that bungalow,” he said.

Arvind Kejriwal. who resigned as chief Minister last month, vacated his official residence on Friday and relocated to 5, Ferozeshah Road.
