Atithi App To Keep Tabs On Guests In Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Hotels

Bhubaneswar: A mobile application, Atithi, will soon be launched to allow hoteliers to share data on their guests with the local police under the Sarais Act 1867.

It is part of the strategies of the Commissionerate Police to nab anti-socials and criminals at the earliest.

Notably, two inter-state robbers had stayed in two hotels in Patia area here before looting Rs 27 lakh from Punjab National Bank’s ATM under Infocity police limits on October 10 last year. They were arrested by the Vizag police In November that year.

According to police sources, hotels will be taken to task for any negligence in submitting details about their guests. Surprise inspections will also be conducted by local cops and action taken against the violators.
