Ganjam/Paradip: In the last 24 hours, miscreants looted an ATM and cash meant to be deposited in an ATM in Ganjam and Jagatsinghpur districts respectively.
Unidentified miscreants allegedly decamped with cash from an ATM of Indian Overseas Bank at Golanthara Chati under Golanthara police limits in Ganjam district late on Thursday.
The amount of cash looted is yet to be known.
According to sources, there was no electricity in the area last night. Taking advantage of the situation, the miscreants stuck and decamped with the cash.
On being informed, the police and bank officials reached the spot. Investigation into the incident is underway.
Meanwhile in Paradip, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 7 lakh being taken in a vehicle to be deposited in an ATM on Friday.
According to sources, the motorcycle-borne looters fire at the vehicle near IFFCO Chhak and decamped with the cash.
