Bhubaneswar/Kolkata: A day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was injured in a melee in Nandigram and taken to a hospital, her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik on Thursday expressed his concern and wished her a speedy recovery.
Taking to Twitter, Naveen wrote, “Concerned to know about the hospitalization of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Wishing her speedy recovery and praying for good health.”
On Wednesday, the Bengal CM said she was injured in one of her legs after being allegedly pushed during an election campaign in Nandigram. The incident happened in the evening when Mamata was outside a temple at Reyapara in Bengal’s East Midnapore district.

“I was standing outside my car with the door open. I was going to a temple there to offer my prayers. Few people came around my car and pushed the door. The door hit my leg,” the Bengal CM was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Mamata, who has filed her nomination from Nandigram for the forthcoming Bengal Assembly polls, alleged that it was a “conspiracy” and no local police personnel were present at the spot when the incident happened.
