Bhubaneswar: An audio clip has added a new twist to the alleged death by suicide of Odia actress Rashmirekha Ojha, who was found hanging in a rented house in Bhubaneswar on June 18.
A third person, Raja, finds mention in the purported conversation between the actress and her alleged live-in partner Santosh Patra. Though there is confusion over when this conversation was recorded, Santosh appears to be miffed with Raja as he tells Rashmirekha that the latter had blocked him.
The actress calls Raja a ‘psycho’ and asks Santosh to stay away from him. To which, Santosh is heard saying, “I will show my power if he tries to confront me in Bhubaneswar.”
The audio clip has raised questions on whether there was trouble in their paradise over this matter since Santosh had moved out of the house, which they had rented about 2 months ago, and was living separately for the last few days.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar DCP told the media that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. The purported suicide note recovered from the spot reveals that she was perhaps suffering from some kind of depression, he said, adding that the actress had blamed nobody in the handwritten note.

“We haven’t received any complaint from the victim’s family. We are investigating this from all angles. The landlord informed that she had rented the house for two months ago with her male friend. After obtaining the postmortem report, we will decide on the next steps. We are also waiting for the reports of forensic analysis of mobile and laptop,” the DCP clarified.
