Hyderabad: Australian cricketer David Warner is all set to make his acting debut with Nithiin-Sreeleela starrer Telugu movie ‘Robinhood.’
During an event in Hyderabad on Monday evening, producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movies revealed that David will be playing an ‘exciting role’ in the Venky Kudumula directorial.
When the host at the event asked Shankar to share some more details about the film, he replied, “There’s someone making a cameo in this film. I don’t know if I should reveal it.”
When Nithiin gestured at him to go ahead, Ravi added, “David Warner has played a small role. I am sorry, Venky. I had to reveal it without your permission because they insisted. His character will be very exciting. I feel proud we’re launching him in Indian cinema, that too with Robinhood.”
Last year in September, Australian media leaked pictures of David shooting for an Indian film in Melbourne, sporting a white shirt.
As per a report in 7News, the actor was seen exiting a helicopter, holding a lollipop in his hand.
In another scene, David was seen pulling a golden gun on villains, who armed with machine guns.
When the pictures of the shoot went viral, fans hoped that the cricketer would be a part of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ which hit theatres in December, last year.
Before foraying into the Indian cinema, David shot for an advertisement with SS Rajamouli in April last year.
