Ganjam: Hundreds of students from different schools took out a massive awareness rally against the use of plastic bags at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district on Wednesday.
Carrying placards and banners with messages to protect the benvironment, the students sensitized the local residents about the ill-effects of using polythene.
“Keeping our surroundings clean can go a long way in maintaining environmental and ecological balance. Everyone should use cloth bags instead of polythene for minimizing pollution and health problems due to release of poisonous chemicals,” one of the students said.
