Ayodhya Verdict: Here’s What CJI Said

New Delhi: Delivering the judgment on the Ayodhya land title dispute, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said Hindus will get possession of the 2.77-acre disputed site through a trust. The Sunni Waqf board will get 5 acres at a prominent site to build mosque.

The CJI said:

# The disputed structure was not built on vacant land according to ASI

# Evidence has been presented that Hindus have been offering prayers at the outer courtyard

# The claim of Sunnis is that namaaz were being offered at Babri mosque till destruction

# There was a consistent pattern of worship by Hindus in the outer courtyard

# Setting up a railing inside was done to ensure peaceful worship by both religions

# SC asks Centre to frame scheme within 3 months and set up a trust for construction of a temple.

# Muslims should not be deprived of a structure; will get alternative site for masjid, says Supreme Court
