Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actress Aparajita Mohanty, mother of Babushaan, arrived at her in-laws’ residence in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, hours after his actor-son and actress Prakruti Mishra were assaulted by her daughter-in-law Trupti Satpathy on the streets in full public glare.
Aparajita was surrounded by journalists the moment she arrived at her in-laws’ residence. She said that she would reply to their questions after meeting her daughter-in-law and grandson.
She told the waiting journalists that she was not in Bhubaneswar for the last five days and was not in a position to answer their questions immediately.
From there, she and Trupti went to Kharvela Nagar police station. According to latest reports, they have left the police station.
“Separate cases have been registered. Based on the complaint of Prakruti’s mother, a case has been registered while another case has been filed on the complaint of Trupti. We have recorded the statements of four, including Trupti,” said Kharvela Nagar IIC Arun Swain.
On Saturday morning, Babushaan and Pakruti, who were in an SUV, were assaulted by Trupti in full public glare in the state capital.
Babushaan’s wife is seen in the videos that have gone viral on social media stopping the SUV in which her husband is in the driver’s seat while Prakruti is seen sitting beside him.
Trupti is seen in an agitated state, roughing up the actor and the actress, pulling Prakruti’s hair and even chasing her. Pakruti is seen stepping out of the SUV and moving around the road, folding her hands and trying to possibly hire an autorickshaw.
Trupti is heard accusing Prakruti of “destroying her family life” and “trying to snatch away her husband”. Prakruti is heard saying, “She (Trupti) has gone mad.”
Babushaan, the son of Ollywood’s star couple Uttam Mohanty and Aparajita, married his childhood friend and longtime girlfriend Trupti in 2014. They have a son.
