Bhubaneswar: In another turn to the Babushaan-Prakruti-Trupti episode on Saturday, the Ollywood hero’s father and senior actor Uttam Mohanty has come to defence of his daughter-in-law.
Speaking to the media on the viral video on the assault on actors Babushaan and Prakruti by the former’s wife Trupti, Uttam said he was aware of the relation between his son and the actress. He also claimed to have advised Babushaan to severe relationship with her to maintain peace in his family life.
“I have tried many times to convince Babushaan to cut ties with Prakruti. But he told me that Prakruti would move to Mumbai and he will continue to work in Ollywood,” he said.
On the relations between Babushaan and Trupti, Uttam said, “They love each other very much. They may have some difference like any couple.”
Stating that Trupti does not have any relation with acting, the senior actor said she does not like romantic scenes in films. “She might have some proof of Babushaan’s relation with Prakruti,” he added.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Babushaan’s wife Trupti can be seen stopping a vehicle in which her husband is in the driver’s seat with Prakruti sitting beside him. An agitated Trupti is seen roughing up the actor and the actress, pulling Prakruti’s hair and even chasing her.
Separate cases have been registered on the basis of the complaints filed by Prakruti’s mother and Trupti at Kharavela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar. Police have also recorded the statements of four persons including Trupti.
