Malkangiri: A two-month-old baby boy died on Saturday at Tangurukonda village of MV-79 in Malkangiri, allegedly after being administered polio vaccine.
The child’s family members have lodged a complaint with MV-79 police.
According to sources, the baby, son of Dama Madhi was administered a polio vaccine under the regular vaccination programme at the Anganwadi centre.
However, his condition started deteriorating in the evening. He got fever. The baby was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
The child’s family members alleged that the death was caused due to the administration of the wrong dose of injection.
The police have sent the body for postmortem. Investigation into the matter is on.
