Bhubaneswar: In an alleged case of medical negligence, a baby girl became critical after she was administered a wrong injection at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
According to information, the doctors treating the girl affected by Cervical Lymphangioma at the pediatric surgery ward allegedly administered her a cancer injection wrongly.
When the child’s condition deteriorated, her family members created a ruckus at the hospital and demanded action against the doctors responsible for the incident.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director, Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane said she was not aware of the matter. Action will be initiated after holding a discussion with the concerned doctor of the department, Batmanabane added.
In another incident that had occurred on August 10, a portion of wall of the Casualty Trauma Care Unit of the healthcare institution had caved in and concrete chunk fell off the ceiling at the ticket counter on its premises.
