Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely in Odisha till July 24 under the influence of strong monsoon flow and a low pressure, which lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Odisha coast.
The system is likely to move slowly westnorthwestwards across Odisha during the next 2 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed in its morning bulletin on Friday.
There is a forecast for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur and Sambalpur during the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is also one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts.
The heavy rainfall warning continues till July 24.
A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal around July 24, the IMD added.
