Bhubaneswar: In line with an earlier Odisha government order, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday issued an advisory to “explicitly prohibit” large social gatherings (read parties) and celebrations on the occasion of New Year’s Eve.
According to the advisory issued to contain the spread of COVID-19, zero night celebrations at hotels, clubs, convention halls, kalian mandaps, etc. are prohibited.
It also said large gatherings for zero night celebration at any other place are also not allowed.
The notification further “advised and requested” everyone to celebrate New Year with their family, friends, and relatives at their private houses or establishments with adherence to appropriate COVID-19 behavior.
