Nayagarh: A pregnant woman was transported on a cot for about 1.5 km to board an ambulance due to bad road in Rathipur village of Nayagarh district on Sunday.
According to reports, family members of the woman, wife of Dupraj Nayak of Rathipur Mathasahi village under Takara panchayat in the district, dialed for ‘108’ ambulance when she complained of labour pain.
They waited for hours for the ambulance, but it could not reach the house and was stationed at a distance of about 1.5 km owing to poor road connectivity. Following which, her family members carried her in a cot with the help of some villagers to reach the ambulance after crossing the village road and a canal.
