Bhubaneswar: The Congress on Monday demanded the ouster of Puri Collector in connection with the allotment of Bagala Dharmasala land.
In a press briefing at the Congress Bhawan, Satya Nayak, Nishikant Mishra, Rajani Mohanty and Amiya Patnaik said that the state government has become a land broker in the name of security of the Jagannath temple.
Seeking clarification on the matter, they questioned that under which rule the government has acquired the land of the Bagala Dharmasala and transferred it to the Revenue Department.
Demanding a high-level probe into the matter, the Congress members urged the government to oust the Puri Collector and asked the Law minister to tender an apology to the people admitting the wrong step taken by the government.
