Cuttack: Baisakhi Mela is back in Cuttack after two years, drawing foodies to a variety of stalls serving mouth-watering Odia dishes.
Stalls serving non-Odia food items are also a hit with foodies. Here’s are some lip-smacking items to savour at the mela, which is now in its sixth day.
Moong dal halwa: This North Indian dish made with moong and ghee is available at Apno Rajasthan for Rs 80.
Mawa kachori: This dessert from Rajasthan is a mix of khoya and nuts whose aroma lingers in your mouth for long. You can also have it at Apno Rajasthan. It’s priced at Rs 70.
Biri bara aloo kasha: This is not your typical dahibara aloodam
. You dunk crisp baras stuffed with onions in potato gravy (aloo kasha). It’s a crowd-puller at the mela and is available for Rs 30.Malpua dalma: Malpua, popular among Odias, gets special attention here. The dessert made of wheat flour and sugar syrup is served alongside dalma for Rs 30.
Tandoori chai: Very tasty, it is available at Gabbar Chai stall for Rs 30.
