Pune: Bajaj Auto has hiked the price of its electric scooter by a whooping Rs 27,620 after closing bookings in two days.
The ex-showroom price of the scooter is now as follows:
Premium – Rs 1,44,620

Bajaj had started taking bookings online for Chetak e-scooter last week on Gudi Padwa. It shut bookings after receiving a heavy demand. Bajaj will reopen bookings after analysing the supply.
The electric Chetak comes with a 4.1 kW electric motor, a lithium-ion battery with up to 95 km range, and recharge time of 5 hours.
Currently, it is being sold in Pune and Bangalore. It is expected to be launched in Hyderabad and Chennai followed by 24 more cities by 2022.
Electric vehicles are seeing an increase in registrations in India. In Mumbai, the number has risen by 115 per cent for two-wheelers to 1,442 in 2020-21 compared to the previous year. Similarly, the gap between CNG (10,363 units) and diesel vehicles (11,785 units) is also reducing.
