Hyderabad: Bajrang Dal leaders have filed a police complaint against actress Sai Pallavi at the Sultan Bazar police station here over certain comments she made in an interview.
During promotions of her upcoming film ‘Virata Parvam’, Pallavi spoke on the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, comparing genocide in Kashmir to lynching for ‘cow smuggling.’
In an interaction with a YouTube channel, Pallavi, asked about her political leanings, said she was ideologically neutral as she was brought up that way.
“I grew up in a neutral environment. I have heard about the left wing and right wing. But I cannot say who is right and who is wrong. The Kashmir Files film shows how Kashmiri Pandits were killed. Recently, there was an incident of a person being killed for carrying a cow because he was suspected to be a Muslim. After killing the person, the attackers raised ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. Where is the difference between what happened in Kashmir and what happened recently?” she argued.
The police said they will take a look at the video and take legal opinion before deciding what action to take.
The 30-year-old actress and dancer works in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films.
