Balangir: A youth burnt alive his ailing septuagenarian mother at Radabahala village of Belapada block under Patnagarh police limits of Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday.
Reports said the youth had an altercation with his father in the morning after which he set his 75-year bed-ridden mother on fire. After committing the heinous crime, he fled the village.
On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and took the body to the Patnagarh hospital for post-mortem. The police said efforts were on to nab the youth.
