Bhubaneswar: Sunil Kumar Tandi of Balangir won Rs 50 lakh in Diwali special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), a much-talked-about TV quiz show, on Sony Entertainment Television on Thursday.
Tandi, who is serving as a district welfare officer in Sundargarh district, expressed his happiness in making it to the show hosted by superstar Amitabh Bachchan and winning the amount after clearing 14 of the 16 rounds. He chose not to proceed further ostensibly because he had no ‘lifeline’ left. He had made it to KBC ahead of nine other competitors in the ‘fastest finger first’ round.
“I and my wife will go on a vacation to Maldives with the prize money,” he said, revealing his wife’s keenness to go on a foreign trip. His wife was present in the audience when he was taking the questions from Big B.
