Balangir Youth Loses Leg After Falling From Moving Train

Balangir: A youth lost his left leg after falling from a moving train at Kantabanji Railway Station here on Thursday.

The 23-year-old youth has been identified as Dusmanta Mahakud, a resident of Sanapada village in Kesinga area of Kalahandi district.

According to sources, the accident took place when Dusmanta was travelling on Visakhapatnam- Hazrat Nizamuddin Samta Express. He tried to get down from the train at Kantabanji Railway Station but fell on the tracks. The train ran over his left leg.

RPF rescued the youth and took him to Kantabanji Hospital. Later, he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital after his condition deteriorated.
