‘Balasaheb Wouldn’t Have Liked It’, NCB Officer Sameer Wankhede’s Wife Writes To Maha CM

Mumbai: Kranti Wankhede, actor and the wife of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede, has written to Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, seeking justice for her husband.

In a letter to Uddhav, she said that the family is being insulted almost every day. “A woman’s dignity is being toyed with in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ state. Had Balasaheb been here today, he wouldn’t have liked it,” said Kranti.

“He (Balasaheb) is not here today but you are. We see him in you, we trust you. I believe that you will not allow injustice to my family and me. As a Marathi, I look towards you with hopes of justice. I request you for justice,” she added.

Kranti has also sought an appointment from the chief minister.

The excerpts of the letter were posted by News agency ANI.

Meanwhile, Wankhede’s sister Yasmeen lodged a complaint at Oshiwara police station, requesting an FIR against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik. She has also mailed a copy of her complaint to the National Commission for Women (NCW).

“Malik in his attempt to defame me and my family members has gone to the extent of stalking me online and illegally taking my personal photographs from my social media handles i.e., Instagram, Facebook etc. …. he is threatening to use my personal photographs and leak the same in media. …..the offence of stalking is also equally liable for the infringement of my privacy,” the letter read.

The NCP leader had posted a screenshot of an Instagram post by Fletcher Patel on Twitter and described Yasmeen as “Lady Don”.
