Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped residents of Rental Colony at Nayapalli in the Odisha capital after the balcony of a three-storey building collapsed late on Sunday.
While a temporary garage near the building was partially damaged, there was no loss of life, reports said.
The incident took place between 2 am and 3 am when a portion of the balcony suddenly crashed. Following the incident, the residents of the building and people living in the nearby buildings in the colony rushed to the spot and informed the police.
The locals alleged that most of the government quarters in the colony had become unsafe in the absence of proper maintenance.
