Cuttack: There is good news for people residing in Odisha’s Cuttack district ahead of Bali Jatra.
In order to facilitate cultural celebrations during the Jatra, the district administration has relaxed loudspeaker timing specification, allowing it to be used till 11 pm during the festival period.
Bali Jatra 2025 will commence on Kartika Purnima, on November 5, and continue till November 13.
Keeping larger public interest in mind, Cuttack District Collector and Magistrate Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde granted the relaxation under Article 5(3) of the Cuttack Noise Pollution (Control) Act, 2000.
The relaxation in loudspeaker timings will apply to ‘Ganakabi Baishnaba Pani Manch’ and ‘Akhaya Mohanty Manch’, where various cultural events will be held over nine days. Renowned artists will perform at the cultural programmes during the historic festival.
The Cuttack administration has imposed a ban on single-use plastics at the Bali Jatra grounds to promote environmental sustainability.
A record 50 lakh visitors are expected to attend this year’s festival, which will take place at the Upper and Lower grounds of Bali Jatra site.
Indonesia has been named partner nation for this year’s Cuttack Bali Jatra.
