Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued the directive on Thursday evenin

g.

Last month, Gangwar, an ADGP-ranked officer, was transferred and posted as OSD in the Home Department by the Odisha government.

Gangwar had been under scanner in the Balianta mob lynching case of GRP constable Soumya Ranjan Swain after the BJD questioned the alleged connection between the victim and an Additional DGP-rank IPS officer.

It was claimed that Soumya was working Gangwar’s residence and gym instead of performing official police duties, with BJD leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar seeking clarification from the state government.

Swain’s family had also levelled allegations against the police officer, accusing Gangwar of forcing the victim to carry out personal work and subjecting him to mental harassment.
