Sydney: Former Australian skipper Steve Smith and David Warner were slapped with a one-year international ban, while Cameron Bancroft was suspended for nine months for their involvement in the ball-tampering fiasco, Cricket Australia announced in a statement.
“Steve Smith: suspension of 12 months from all international and domestic cricket. David Warner: suspension of 12 months from all international and domestic cricket. Cameron Bancroft: suspension of 9 months from all international and domestic cricket,” the statement made by Cricket Australia read.
Smith and Warner have also been ousted from this edition of IPL.
The ban means the trio will not be a part of four Tests, three ODIs and three T20I matches against India scheduled in November-December.
The Australian Board, on the other hand, have given a clean chit to coach Darren Lehmann after preliminary investigations.
