Phulbani: The Kandhamal district administration announced on Wednesday that the tourist destinations and picnic spots in the district will be out of bounds for people till November 30. This has been done as a safety measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.
However, the tourism department resorts will remain open for the visitors.
The Tehsildars-cum-Executive Magistrates have been assigned the role of nodal officers by the district administration. They will ensure zero movement of tourists and gathering of local people in the tourist/picnic places for feast, picnic or any other reason, according to OTV.
“Regular enforcement should be conducted jointly by EMs and IICs of local police station in these areas and appropriate action will be initiated against the violators,” the official notification issued by the Kandhamal district administration on Wednesday read.
