Phulbani: Normal life was crippled in G Udayagiri block in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Tuesday following a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh called by BJP for fulfilment of its 14-point charter of demands, including revenue sub-division status to the block.
All trading establishments and educational institutions remained closed while vehicles stayed off the road due to the bandh.
The district administration has taken up adequate security measures with deployment of police forces in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
The BJP has alleged that though it has urged the district administration many times for fulfilment of its demands, the administration is yet to take any steps till date.
