Phulbani/Balangir: Life was hit in Kandhamal district and Patnagarh in Balangir district on Saturday due to 12-hour bandh call given by Kuikula Samiti, Baliguda and the Citizen Forum respectively.
Business establishments remained closed while vehicular traffic was disrupted due to the bandh.
According to sources, Kuikula Samiti has given the bandh call protesting against the decision of the district administration not to display the tribal culture and tradition during the recently concluded Baliguda Mahotsav.
On the other hand, the Kui Samaj has also vehemently opposed the misbehaviour of Baliguda BDO Naresh Chandra Sabar to Kutikia sarpanch Dayanidhi Mallick at a public place recently.
On the other hand, the Citizen Forum activists observed the 12-hour Patnagarh bandh, demanding construction of Patnagarh-Khaprakhol railway line at the earliest.
The activists staged a rail roko at the Harishankar Road, picketed at several places and closed all trading establishments.
Vehicular traffic was disrupted due to the road blockade, sources added.
