Boudh: Life came to a grinding halt in Kantamal block in Boudh district following a 12-hour bandh called by Koshala Samanwaya Samiti on Friday.
Samiti activists staged road blockades at several places, disrupting traffic flow from Kantamal to Boudh, Sonepur and Baliguda (Kandhamal). All trading establishments were also closed during the bandh.
The Samiti gave the bandh call to enforce its three demands. These include sub-division status to Kantamal block, early completion of a bridge over Tel river at Tarabha and the eviction of government land encroached by influential leaders.
