Bhubaneswar: Deputy Commissioner of Bangladesh Toufique Hasan expressed interest of his country in strengthening business tie-up with India, particularly Odisha.
During a visit to Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner and first Secretary Commercial Sahamsul Arif held a meeting with UCCIL president Brahma Mishra and board members along with other eminent members.
Various topics of mutual interest like fisheries, textiles, downstream engineering item of steel and aluminium were discussed in the meeting. The UCCIL members informed the visiting delegates about coming International Trade Fair going to be held at Bhubaneswar, involving active participation from world leaders in industrial products and machineries. They invited Bangladesh for participation in the trade fair.
They also requested the Bangladesh officials for easing VISA formalities for visiting Indian businessmen and study group to facilitate tour to the neighbouring country.
Both teams agreed for strengthening business tie-up for enhancing the revenue earning for both the countries. Sanjay Pattnaik, director, ESSAR Minmet was also present.
