Balangir: Agriculture officer of a bank has gone missing in Odisha’s Balangir district and a search operation has been launched to trace him, reports said on Thursday.
The disappearance on Wednesday of Dibyaranjan Mishra, who worked as an agriculture officer in the Barpali branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB), has sparked a wide range of speculations.
A search operation has been launched to trace Mishra. Fire service personnel are carrying out a search in Anga river after his bike and helmet were found on the bridge over it at Cherupali on National Highway 26, sources said.
Mishra, a resident of Shantipada area in Balangir, was returning home after performing field duty when he went missing. He had spoken to the family members last in the evening and told them he was on his way back after work. However, he did not reach home.
When it took a long time, his family members got worried and tried to contact him on his mobile phone but it was found switched off, they said. They maintained that Mishra had no enmity with anyone.
A probe has been launched by the police and they are examining the matter from different angles, sources added
