Bank Employee Among Three Held With Leopard Skin In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: A leopard skin was seized and three persons including a bank employee were arrested in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, Karanjia and Dudhiani Range officials conducted raids and arrested the three accused. Two of the accused are from Kankada village under Dudhiani Range. Another accused, Shirisha Mohanta, is a bank employee. Shirisha belongs to Dhatikabeda village under Kendumundi Range in the district. He is an employee of the Cooperative Bank in Mayurbhanj. Forest officials arrested them and forwarded then to court the same day. Investigation are on.

Earlier, a leopard skin racket was busted in Sambalpur on March 15. As many as 10 persons, involved in the racket, have been arrested in that case. Four leopard skins were seized from their possession.
