Mumbai: A private bank employee jumped to his death from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
He was identified as Akash Singh, a resident of Parel in central Mumbai, reported PTI.
According to an official of Worli police, Singh boarded a taxi to travel from Bandra-Kurla Complex to Parel on Friday night, but then asked the driver to take him to the Sea Link.
Singh was talking on his phone when the taxi was crossing the bridge. He suddenly told the cab driver that his mobile had fallen out and wanted him to halt.
As the driver pulled over to the side, Singh got down and jumped into the sea, the police official said.
Singh’s body was fished out of the sea several hours later.
Singh, who lived with his parents, broke up with his girlfriend three months ago. Police are trying to ascertain the reason for his decision to end his life.
