Cuttack: Five days after the brutal murder of a local Congress leader Bhagaban Swain (50) and web journalist Aditya Kumar Ranasingh (35) near Banki, the Sadar police here on Thursday detained two accused, including the alleged mastermind.
Briefing the media here, Cuttack Sadar SP Radha Binod Panigrahi identified the alleged mastermind as Susanta Pradhan alias Kalia.
Police had earlier arrested Balabhadra Pradhan and Jitu Swain in connection with the case.
“The interrogation of the four accused revealed that more than 10 persons were involved in the murder. They attributed the murder to previous enmity. Efforts are on to nab the remaining accused,” the SP said, adding that a vehicle used by the accused has been seized.
