Banks In Odisha To Remain Closed On September 9 For Nuakhai

Bhubaneswar: All banks and other financial institutions will remain closed across Odisha on September 9 (Monday) on account of Nuakhai festival.

The Odisha government has issued a notification declaring September 9 as holiday for all banks and financial institutions in the state on account of the agrarian festival.

The Revenue and Disaster Management department issued a notification in this regard.

Notably, the state government had earlier announced a holiday for all the government, government-aided and private schools, offices and magisterial courts in the state for Nuakhai.

The Nuakhai, a major agrarian festival will be celebrated on September 8 (Sunday). As the festival is celebrated on Sunday, the government announced the next day as a public holiday.
