Phulbani: The Kandhamal district administration on Wednesday announced the closure of banks for a week after some employees and officers tested positive for COVID-19.
Informing the media here, district collector Brunda D said that employees and officials of all the banks in the district have been asked to remain in home quarantine for a week. They have also been asked to inform the administration if they develop any flu-like symptom during the quarantine period. Besides, the bank authorities have been told to keep adequate money in their respective ATM machines.
The district administration will sanitise the bank office buildings during the closure, she said. The banks will function with 50 per cent employees after a week.
