Bhubaneswar: Expressing grave concern over the growing number of bank robberies in Odisha, Crime Branch Additional Director General (ADG) Santosh Upadhyay on Friday informed that steps are being initiated to link the banks with police stations through hotline.
In a crucial meeting on bank security, the ADG said, “It has been decided to inspect the security system and ATMs of the banks of through hotline system every month. Besides, more number of metal detectors and CCTV cameras will be installed to protect banks from safety and security threats.”
Upadhyay asked the SPs of different districts to remain alert regarding the frequent incidents of bank robberies. He also advised the bank officials to strictly follow the security rules mentioned in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.
